Stefanie Plitt, LCSW-C

Practicing Since: 2008

Stefanie’s gift for helping others, and unique understanding of children and adolescents, has led her to provide individual and family counseling at Safe Harbor’s Center for Child & Adolescent therapy. Although Stefanie’s therapeutic orientation is eclectic in nature, she gravitates towards interpersonal, solution-focused and cognitive behavioral perspectives. This helps clients to understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact and introduce interventions to improve the overall quality of life. Stefanie believes the relationship between a therapist and client is an essential component of the process. Her priority is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment that allows for the most effective work towards treatment goals.

Stefanie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park. Soon after, she went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work with a concentration in clinical mental health. Stefanie continues to work on her education and has obtained advanced training in evidence-based practices including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and PracticeWise Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP). Stefanie is also currently working towards the goal to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Stefanie resides in Bel Air with her husband and two cats.

Stefanie is licensed in the state of Maryland #16101.
