Internships at Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor Behavioral Care has a Thriving internship program. Hosting Master’s level students interested in learning best practices in psychotherapy with a range of populations, Interns are matched with experienced supervisors for weekly supervision. Supervision includes the opportunity to shadow expert clinicians, and hold an active case load of their own while gaining valuable knowledge through hands on experience.
Throughout internship, students participate in our Client Thrive Program which takes a holistic approach to client care that focuses on an empirically based, three-pronged best practice intervention to support clinicians in order to support client outcomes. Our interns learn to implement best practices in Engagement, Connection, and Collaboration. Client’s outcomes improve and ultimately clients thrive. Interns have the opportunity to participate in Continuing education trainings, individual and group supervision, Peer Consultations, and counselor support from our 50+ member administrative staff and through our bi-monthly staff/counselor gathering “Coffee talk at the Well”.
