Michele Stanton, LCSW-C

Practicing since: 1990

Michele Stanton graduated from University of Maryland with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Her decision to pursue a career in counseling was influenced by a profound life experience that led her to a lifelong commitment to helping others heal. She finds it deeply rewarding to witness clients experience growth, resilience, and meaningful transformation through the therapeutic relationship.

Michele also founded a nonprofit that ministers to the therapeutic needs of child sexual abuse survivors. She identifies the treatment of clergy sexual abuse as a central focus of her practice. In addition, Michele works with a variety of populations and areas of concern, including individuals experiencing homelessness, those involved in the correctional system, and survivors of domestic violence. Her clinical approach integrates spiritual principles, transpersonal psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These experiences inform her practice and allow her to approach each client with compassion, understanding, and a broad perspective.

Clients can expect care that is both holistic and client-centered. Michele meets clients where they are and seeks to address the whole person, incorporating Christ-centered principles when appropriate. She is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, validated, and supported as they navigate their healing journey.

Michele Stanton, LCSW-C, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#08008).
