Jamila creates a friendly, welcoming environment in which clients feel comfortable sharing and exploring. Believing that each client is the expert on their life, she encourages incorporating exercise, proper sleep, nutrition, spiritual practices, and enjoyable activities into therapy.
Counseling is weighty work but, Jamila views the therapeutic process as a collaborative team effort and walks alongside her clients providing tools and insights needed to reach desired goals.
Jamila is a trauma informed clinician, having completed CBT for trauma trainings as well as impact of trauma trainings.
She is married with 3 young, very busy, wonderful children and loves to read & travel in her spare time.
Jamila is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LGP10223) and is under the clinical supervision of Matthew Piercey, LCPC (MD license # LC9076).
