Amber McVey, LMSW

Practicing Since: 2019
Amber offers a warm, supportive space where clients feel safe, heard, and free from judgment. She uses a person-centered approach tailored to each individual, blending empathy with effective tools like cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect. Her collaborative, strengths-based style focuses on building resilience and empowering clients toward healing and positive change.
Amber believes mental health is key to overall well-being and sees therapy as a partnership where clients take an active role in their growth. Her goal is to help reduce distress, improve quality of life, and support meaningful personal development through compassionate, evidence-based care.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys life with her husband, their child, and a lively group of pets including dogs, cats, birds, and a gecko. She finds joy in caring for her animals and loves traveling with her family whenever possible.
Amber is licensed in the state of Maryland (License #: 32338) and under the clinical supervision of Marina Gethers, LCSW-C (License # 09042).
