Julia Brown, LMSW

Practicing since: 2020

Julia Brown graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor by her own personal experiences. She aims to hold a dedicated space to process challenging life experiences and assist clients with the same support and healing that was so impactful in her own journey.

Julia’s approach to treatment focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, experiences, and emotions. She primarily utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, with an emphasis on helping patients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Julia places particular focus on psychoeducation, especially regarding anxiety, and often incorporates brain-based explanations to help clients better understand their experiences and responses.

She strongly believes in individualized care, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and preferences of every client. Some individuals benefit from an open, conversational style, while others prefer a more structured, guided approach. Her goal is for each person to leave feeling supported, empowered, and confident in their therapeutic experience.

Clients will be met with full presence and genuine care during every session with Julia. She values honesty and transparency in the therapeutic relationship and is motivated to provide a place of understanding and acceptance where individuals can share their stories and feel truly heard.  Ultimately, Julia strives to help individuals leave therapy empowered, equipped with practical skills, and confident in the support they receive.
