Elizabeth Prather, MS, LGPC

Practicing Since:2023

Elizabeth’s goal is to create a comfortable environment that is safe for anyone. She fully believes in treating people with respect, kindness, and love, and she hopes that shows through the professional yet down-to-earth environment she creates in therapy. Using modalities such as CBT, DBT, interpersonal, solution-focused, multicultural, and play therapy, Elizabeth tries to reach clients where they are to work with them in the most effective way possible.

Mental health is something that arguably every person deals with at some point in their lives; asking for help in dealing with it is a sign a strength and resilience. Elizabeth’s goal as a professional counselor is to support her clients through their lows and highs and to help each person she works with to become the healthiest form of themselves. The therapeutic process can be challenging, but it is not impossible, and no one has to go through it alone.

Elizabeth has earned four college degrees throughout her education (A.A. in criminal justice, A.A. in general studies, B.S. in psychology, and M.S. in counseling psychology), providing her with a wide scope of knowledge beneficial to her clinical counseling work. She has also conducted specialized research in human sexuality and implicit racial biases in criminal counseling.

Outside of the office, Elizabeth loves spending time with her friends, family, and pets. She could be most commonly found exploring the outdoors, reading, doing craft projects, and playing music and games.

Elizabeth Prather is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LGP16286) under the clinical supervision of Shon Miller, LCPC (#LC5433).
