Alessandra Vera, LGPC

Practicing since: 2024

“I refuse to be reduced by what happened to me.”

Alessandra Vera graduated from John’s Hopkins University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor to offer care grounded in trauma-informed principles and a nervous system-centered approach. She is passionate about providing culturally responsive care that honors each person’s identity, language, faith, and the effects of generational trauma. At the heart of Alessandra’s work is the belief that healing is possible not only for individuals, but also for the generations that follow.

In addition, Alessandra is certified in nature-informed therapy and implements this expertise in treatment with clients. Her trauma-informed approach recognizes how early life experiences shape who we become. She helps clients build insight and practical tools to regulate their nervous system, set boundaries, communicate effectively, and respond to stress in healthier ways.

At the heart of Alessandra’s work is the belief that therapy can help break harmful cycles — whether related to generational trauma, patterns of mistreatment, or self-sacrifice that no longer serves you. Her approach goes beyond symptom relief, focusing on empowering clients to make intentional changes in how they view themselves, navigate relationships, and shape their future. She believes that when one person commits to growth, it can create meaningful ripple effects across families, partnerships, and generations to come.

Clients will experience understanding and empowerment during treatment with Alessandra. Her goal is not only to help clients understand why they respond the way they do, but to equip them with strategies to regulate their nervous system, communicate more effectively, set healthy boundaries, and move through life with greater confidence and self-trust. Motivated by the opportunity to create meaningful impact, she supports clients in reclaiming the power that shapes how they love, lead, and show up for generations to come.
