Justin Higgins, LGPC

Practicing since: 2023
Justin Higgins graduated from Eastern University with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. He was inspired to pursue a career as a mental health counselor, drawing on eclectic frameworks to help individuals in need through creative approaches that promote the most therapeutic outcomes.
His approach to therapy allows for truly individualized treatment plans which concentrate on giving clients confidence they can overcome whatever obstacles they might face. Justin embraces a client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging them to take the lead, recognizing they are the true experts on their own lives. In this way, Justin leans towards a strength-based approach to help the client know they are heard, seen, and valued. Additionally, he utilizes the MBTI and Enneagram, if clients desire, to help them understand themselves.
During treatment with Justin, clients will experience a warm, empathetic atmosphere where they can be their authentic selves, free from judgement or fear. They can also expect unconditional positive regard and active listening to allow for opportunities to grow as a person. Inspired by his Christian faith and his own journey with therapy, Justin has developed the coping and social skills to handle challenges that come his way. Justin now wants to use what he has learned to help others in need.
Justin Higgins, LGPC, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LGP17154) and under the clinical supervision of Miranda Layton, LCSW-C (#13740).
