Sylvia Hanna, LGPC

Syliva Hanna graduated from Loyola University with a Master’s of Education and a concentration in School Counseling. Before obtaining her license in professional counseling, Sylvia spent years working as a teacher. In her role as an educator, she enjoyed helping her students learn to process emotions and navigate their peer relationships. Sylvia’s experience as a teacher inspired her to pursue a career as a professional counselor.
Sylvia is a nationally certified counselor and implements this expertise in the treatment of her clients. She specializes in working with children and adolescent clients with experience as a school counselor. She enjoys incorporating art therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness interventions into her sessions with clients. Sylvia is comfortable using different therapeutic modalities, including solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and humanistic therapy.
While working with Sylvia, clients will experience a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment in sessions. Sylvia has a person-centered approach to therapy and makes it a priority that her clients to feel safe throughout their sessions. She enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to support them in setting and meeting their personal goals.
