Jane Zaldivar, M. A., Resident in Counseling

Practicing Since: 2018
If you are looking for someone to walk alongside you, to support you in whatever challenge you may be facing, Jane offers you empathy, understanding and a non-judgmental space to process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Jane creates a safe environment where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Clients can feel free to take off their “masks.” She also provides spiritual integration and faith-based interventions for interested clients. She enjoys working with clients holistically – spirit, soul, and body.
Mental health is based on being in healthy relationships with oneself and others. Building a relationship of trust, respect, and humility between the therapist and the client is the foundation upon which change, and progress can occur. Therapy is a journey of discovery to a better understanding of your thoughts and feelings (origin and triggers) and learning to tell your story with honesty and compassion – moving from a position of pain, loss, and sorrow to beauty, desire, and hope. Jane believes life is a journey of ups and downs, interspersed with victories and losses. She works with clients to figure out how to remove barriers, gain skills to face your challenges, and grow into your best self.
Jane enjoys visiting museums and exploring different ethnic restaurants with her husband. She is a classically trained pianist and enjoys music related activities like singing on a choir, going to concerts, and listening to various styles of music from jazz to gospel to classical.
Jane practices in the state of Virginia under the clinical supervision of LeeAnn Gumulauskas, LPC (VA Lic# 0701008515).
