Ursula Edmonds, LMSW

Practicing since: 2018

“The present moment is where life truly happens.”

Ursula Edmonds graduated from Catholic University of America with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. Ursula was inspired to become a mental health counselor by the complexity and resilience of the human experience. She believes that within the therapeutic space, individuals have the capacity to gain new perspectives, foster meaningful change, and grow in ways they may not have thought possible. Ursula is continually inspired by each person’s potential and the unique strengths they bring to their journey.

Ursula’s approach to treatment is warm and integrates a variety of treatment models to create a client-centered approach. She sees mental health challenges, addictions, and personality patterns as often connected to past experiences and the ways our lives have unfolded over time. She strives to work collaboratively to build insight, support healing, and create meaningful, lasting change. Ursula’s approach is flexible and meant to meet clients where they are.

Clients can expect a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where they feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Ursula uses thoughtful questions, curiosity, and reflection to help clients deepen self-understanding, clarify their goals, and identify paths forward that align with their values. Her aim is to help clients feel empowered to navigate challenges with greater confidence and self-awareness.

Ursula Edmonds, LMSW, is licensed in both Maryland (#32786) and DC (#LG200001264) and under the clinical supervision of JaVon Townsend, LCSW-C (#18559).
