“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” – John Green

Padmini Kunnathully graduated from the University of Calicut, India with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor by the possibility of real change in people’s lives, a change that may not be immediately visible but is deeply meaningful. She finds it both surprising and inspiring to witness the resilience people bring, especially when they are actively working to process traumatic experiences. Being part of that journey, even in small ways, is incredibly meaningful to her.

Padmini approaches treatment using an integrative, evidence-based therapeutic approach, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed interventions, strengths-based therapy, problem-solving strategies, and person-centered techniques. She individualizes treatment to meet each client’s unique needs, fostering a safe, supportive environment in which clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to achieve meaningful and lasting change.

Padmini’s hope is that her clients will gain a deeper understanding of themselves, including their thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior. She wants them to develop effective coping skills, build resilience, and feel more confident in navigating life’s challenges. Ultimately, Padmini’s goal is for clients to feel empowered to make meaningful changes and lead more fulfilling, balanced lives. Padmini Kunnathully, LGPC, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#LGP17450) and under the clinical supervision of Patricia Itzel, LCSW-C (#13811).
