Nicolette Fafalios, Master’s Level Clinical Intern

Practicing since: 2026
Nicolette Fafalios is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor by the opportunity to support individuals through some of the most vulnerable and challenging moments of their lives while being part of their healing and personal growth journey. Nicolette is drawn to the idea that small interventions like feeling heard, validated, and understood can have a meaningful and lasting impact on a person’s well-being.
She is especially inspired by the diversity and holistic nature of the field. As she continues learning, Nicolette has developed an even greater appreciation for the importance of individualized care and is motivated to keep expanding her skillset so she can meet clients where they are and support them in reaching their goals.
Nicolette’s approach is client-centered and grounded in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. Nicolette also incorporates evidence-based techniques, including CBT strategies, to help clients develop practical coping skills and improve overall well-being through a cooperative and flexible approach.
While working with Nicolette, Clients will experience a nonjudgmental, supportive, and collaborative environment where they feel heard, respected, and empowered. Motivated by her family and passion for helping others, Nicolette works alongside clients to create a safe space where they can openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Nicolette Fafalios is an intern under the clinical supervision of Stefanie Plitt, LCSW-C, licensed in the State of Maryland (#16101).
