Keisha Jackson, LCPC

Practicing since: 2015
Keisha graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. She was inspired to become a mental health counselor through her experiences in school, community settings, and crisis intervention work. These experiences led her to pursue counseling not only as a profession, but as a commitment to advocacy, healing, and empowering individuals to thrive despite adversity. Seeing measurable growth in clients—such as improved coping skills, emotional expression, and self-efficacy—solidified her passion for the field.
Keisha is also an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP), Mental Health & Nutrition Clinical Specialist (CMNCS), and Grief Informed Professional (CGP). Drawing on this expertise, her approach to treatment is integrative, trauma-informed, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Brainspotting, and psychodynamic interventions to address trauma, maladaptive thought patterns, and emotional dysregulation. Keisha tailors interventions to each client’s developmental level, cultural background, and presenting concerns to ensure care is responsive and relevant.
She emphasizes a strong therapeutic alliance built on safety and trust as the foundation for meaningful progress. Her work incorporates strength-based and solution-focused techniques to support resilience, insight, and coping skills, empowering clients toward emotional stability and personal growth.
Clients will experience open-ended, client-led sessions during treatment with Keisha, allowing space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace without rigid structure. She attends to themes such as attachment, defense mechanisms, and interpersonal dynamics, including transference and countertransference. This approach supports insight, self-awareness, and emotional processing, while allowing her to integrate supportive, skills-based interventions as clinically indicated.
Keisha’s practice is guided by empathy, integrity, and respect for each client’s story. She is committed to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and recognizes the impact of identity, lived experience, and systemic factors on mental health. Above all, Keisha empowers clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and reclaim their voice in order to lead more balanced, meaningful, and self-directed lives.
