Joshua Hansford, Master’s Level Clinical Intern

Practicing since: 2025
Joshua Hansford is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Inspired by the growing awareness, acceptance, and education around mental health, Joshua has been driven to pursue a career in the field. He is especially encouraged to see people prioritizing mental wellness in cultural spaces where these conversations have not always been embraced.
Joshua considers himself “a learner and fellow traveler” alongside his clients. As he continues his education, he approaches treatment with the understanding that counselors do not have all the answers. Instead, he sees counselors as supportive guides who walk alongside clients, offering practical tools and therapeutic methods to help them navigate their unique experiences. This collaborative approach empowers clients to play an active role in their own healing and personal growth.
Clients can expect an empathetic and compassionate space where they can feel heard, share their stories openly, and be honest about the challenges they are facing. Joshua strives to create an environment where clients feel supported as they explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change.
Joshua Hansford is under the clinical supervision of Sandy Chaplin, LCPC, licensed in the State of Maryland (#LC3264).
