Emily “Emmy” Dannenfelser, Master’s Level Clinical Intern

Practicing since: 2026

Emmy Dannenfelser is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John’s Hopkins University. She has been inspired to pursue a career in mental health through witnessing the resilience of the individuals she works with, listening to their stories, and seeing their growth and progress over time. She finds the process of personal growth deeply meaningful and is continually inspired by the experiences of both her clients and the counselors who have guided and influenced her path.

Emmy’s approach to treatment is collaborative and eclectic, grounded in the belief that meaningful therapeutic work happens within a safe, respectful, and genuine relationship. She values creating a warm and supportive environment where therapy is a collaborative process. Her work draws from several modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Feminist Therapy. Emmy also emphasizes the importance of understanding each client’s unique identities, experiences, and background in the therapeutic process.

Clients working with Emmy can expect a welcoming and affirming space where collaboration and feedback are encouraged. She believes each client is the expert on their own lived experience and approaches therapy with empathy, curiosity, and respect. Guided by a strong commitment to equity and inclusivity, Emmy strives to ensure every client feels seen, valued, and supported.
