Christopher Minarcin, MSW, LMSW

Practicing since: 2023
Christopher graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore with a Master’s degree in Social Work. He was inspired to become a mental health counselor after several years of crisis work, where he saw many individuals without a safe space in their lives. He strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe sharing their thoughts and feelings.
Christopher approaches treatment using an eclectic style, recognizing that no two individuals are the same and that there is no “cookie-cutter” approach to care. He tailors his therapeutic interventions to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and experiences. Christopher also takes a collaborative approach to treatment planning, working closely with clients to identify their goals and support them in making meaningful, personalized progress toward them.
Clients will be met where they are in their mental health journey during treatment with Christopher. He values the therapeutic relationship and believes that feeling safe is essential for clients to be able to be vulnerable in sessions. Christopher also prioritizes client autonomy, encouraging individuals to take ownership of what they can control and to actively engage in their lives rather than feel like passive observers.
Christopher Minarcin, LMSW, is licensed in the state of Maryland (#33599) and is under the clinical supervision of JaVon Townsend, LCSW-C (#18559).
